A Multi-Faceted Entertainer
Country Music Alberta, Edmonton Music Awards and International Singer/Songwriter Association Awards Nominee Bob Donaldson grew up in Rimbey surrounded by music. Bob’s writing style and performances are interactive with a comedic flare. His music has been translated and released in Norway as well. A sound between John Cougar and Garth Brooks with a blast of Jack Black, his unique approach to live shows has secured shows from private house parties and festivals to opening for the Legendary Dr. Hook and award winning Gord Bamford. Performances include multiple shows at K-Days, CMA and CCMA showcases, CMA Songwriter Circle, 2019 CFR in Red Deer, Make Music Edmonton, Pre-Game Concert at Roger’s Place, Regular staple at the Edmonton International Airport (post security shows), AUPE Events, Alberta Court of Queen’s Bench performances and more.
In 2021 Bob has launched a fundraising campaign with the support of his sponsors to raise $75,000 for Second Chance Animal Rescue Society (SCARS) for animal rescue and care that has been affected by the COVID 19 pandemic.
In 2021 Bob was awarded the “Alberta Man of Country Music” Award by the legendary, hall of famer, Ivan Daines.
April 2022 marks the release of the EP “Ineffable”. “Ineffable” ranges from the sober emotions of “Taken (Spirit of a Child)” to the tongue-in-cheek, Brad Paisley meets Tom T. Hall sound of “CDO”. Of course, there is always a love song, a fully produced version of the fun, two stepping audience favourite “Your Eyes Say a Thousand Words” to the bluesy sound of “Nothing to Me” where Bob managed to work in Louis Vuitton and Tim Hortons in the same line.
Bob is nominated for six awards for the 2022 International Singer Songwriter Association in the International categories of;
Male Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, Male Rising Star of the Year, Male Single of the Year for “Taken (Spirit of a Child)”, Male Songwriter of the Year and Male Emerging Artist of the Year.
Bob’s music is proven to transcend ages with young children to seniors, they all enjoy his performance and leave feeling entertained.
